A blaze erupted on an MSC Cruises vessel within Corfu harbour in Greece without causing loss of life or pollution, local coastguard officials said on Friday.
Live pictures broadcast by local residents on Facebook showed flames rising amidships from the lower decks on the starboard side of the 65,600-gt MSC Lirica (built 2003), where the ship's lifeboats are.
Firefighters battled the flames on coastguard boats rushing to the scene just a few metres off the Corfu quay.
