Marine fuel supplier Bunker One has forged a deal to supply hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) biodiesel that can cut emissions by up to 90% to a ferry service between Denmark’s mainland and the island of Sjaelland, where Copenhagen is situated.
Ferry operator Molslinjen will use the fossil-free biodiesel on the Fanolinjen service between Arhus on Jutland and Odden, which is served by three 10,500-gt high-speed catamarans capable of carrying 425 cars and 1,000 people.
