China’s Ruiyang Shipping, also known as StarOcean Marine, has added two 1,100-teu newbuildings to its growing fleet.
The coastal containership company has struck a deal with state-owned Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding to build the feederships for delivery in early 2024.
The order is the company’s third newbuilding contract this year, and it brings Ruiyang's total spend on boxship newbuildings to about $410m.
