Japanese container giant ONE is expanding the scope of its low-sulphur fuel oil surcharge from China.

It is making the move "due to expansion of regulation scope requiring ships to use less than 0.5% sulphur fuel in the China ECA designated areas," it said.

It will introduce an extra fee of $15 for import and export cargo.

This applies from 15 February for all trades, except to the US and Canada, which will be introduced from 1 March.
