Italy’s Kalypso Compagnia di Navigazione is poised to move into shipowning with its first container ship purchase.
The company is acquiring the 3,426-teu Burgundy (built 2008) from interests linked to Germany MPC Group.
That would be the first owned container vessel in the Kalypso’s fleet of chartered boxships that currently range from 700 to 3,100 teu.
