MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company is believed to have purchased two feeder container ships from New York-listed Global Ship Lease (GSL).
The tonnage-hungry liner operator has been linked to the 2,200-teu Akiteta and sister Kumasi (built 2002).
The vessels are estimated to be worth about $14m each, according to VesselsValue.
