An ultra large container vessel owned by Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has lost an unspecified number of containers today after hitting "heavy weather" in the North Sea.
The Diego Aponte-led company said the 19,224-teu MSC Zoe (built 2015) was headed to Bremerhaven, Germany, when it encountered the rough conditions.
"Unfortunately, a number of the containers were damaged or lost overboard amid very difficult conditions," the company said.
