The International Maritime Organization is joining calls from shipowners for further action against Gulf of Guinea piracy, as Nigeria prepares to launch its anti-piracy campaign.
On Wednesday, the UN body renewed its calls for more collaboration to tackle the problem, which saw 40 crew members kidnapped in the first quarter of 2021 following the 135 taken from their ships last year.
