Japan’s NS United has received more than 15 bids for a 2012-built capesize bulker, which could set a new benchmark price in a bullish secondhand market for such ships.
The highest offer for the 181,300-dwt United Breeze (built 2012) approached $29.5m, according to some brokers.
However, other market sources following the sale said the Imabari Shipbuilding-constructed vessel most likely fetched $28.5m.
