Hai Phuong Transport has added to its fleet a modern handysize bulker taken from the fleet of Greece’s Vantage Shipping.
The Vietnamese bulker operator has reportedly paid $15m for the 29,000-dwt Vantage Rider (built 2011), which has been delivered to its new owner and renamed HPC Unity.
The vessel is the sixth in a string of bulk carrier purchases that Hai Phuong has made since February 2021 as it has transitioned from a domestic shipowner with a handful of small general cargo ships into the country’s fastest growing dry bulk operator targeting a wider international clientele.
