Logs are being loaded onboard a newcastlemax bulk carrier for the first time ever.
Loading of Golden Ocean Group’s 208,400-dwt Golden Champion (built 2019) began at the port of Montevideo, Uruguay, in mid-April. The ship is expected to arrive in China in early June.
The shipment combines three handysize stems of pine logs, roughly 105,000 tonnes of cargo that will be used for anything from furniture, pallets and construction.
