Genco Shipping & Trading will remain focused on spot market charters in order to benefit from rising rates, company officials said.
Genco’s increased second quarter revenue was due to employing vessels in spot market voyage charters, chief financial officer Apostolos Zafolias said during a conference call. The revenue increased to $86.2m for the period, nearly doubling from the $45.4m earned in last year’s quarter.
