Diana Shipping has secured much higher pay for a period charter of a newcastlemax bulker locked in during an otherwise slow day for the dry bulk market.
The New York-listed bulker owner has fixed the 206,104-dwt Los Angeles (built 2012) at $26,250 per day for at least a year to Koch Shipping, a freight unit of US conglomerate Koch Industries.
