The bounce-back following the Chinese lunar break has not transpired as the capesize bulker spot market continues to dwindle to near two-year lows on Australian weather woes.
The Baltic Exchange’s average capesize spot rate stood at $5,900 per day on Wednesday, down 8.7% from the previous day.
