Average capesize spot rates plummeted by half over the past week as bulker owners sat tight with their tonnage in hopes of better days ahead, according to market watchers.
The Capesize 5TC basketof spot-rate averages dropped 49.3% over the past seven days to $2,246 per day on Friday, marking the lowest that this index has been in since May 2020.
