Ammonia-fuelled bulker start-up Viridis Bulk Carriers has sealed partnership agreements with five cargo owners as it seeks to have its innovative fleet running from 2024.
Elkem, Vestkorn, BioMar, Franzefoss Minerals and Saltimport will work on developing an efficient zero-emission freight network using Viridis' newbuildings and cargo volumes from each company.
The end goal of the project is a flexible bulk shipping network, served by a fleet of green ammonia-powered ships, based on long term contracts of affreightment.
