Emerging Chinese tanker player Brightoil has emerged as Singapore’s second largest bunker supplier, latest figures show.

The Hong Kong-listed shipowner has come from nowhere to displace more established names, according to annual list from the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA).

Singapore is one of nine ports around the world from which Brightoil supplies bunkers, but it has ambitions to more than double this number.
