Shuttle tankers are increasingly being sold for demolition as they approach 20 years old, with two such ships currently going for scrap.
Teekay Shuttle Tankers, the biggest player in the segment, is reported to have sold the 124,000-dwt Navion Britannia (built 1998). It has arrived in Alang after having been sold for an undisclosed price, likely to be about $12m.
