NYK has seen a very strong third quarter which has pushed its profit for the first nine months of the financial year to JPY 16.8bn ($154m).
The result marks a huge turnaround from the previous year when a series of writedowns pushed the shipowner to a loss of JPY 226bn.
NYK’s liner division went from a year ago loss of JPY 11.3bn
