Well-placed sources on Tuesday also dismissed market speculation that the Theodore Angelopoulos-backed shipping group may have been looking to cancel or convert the orders for a series of 3,600-teu vessel, which are due for delivery three years from now.
“Metrostar is not currently looking at index-related charter contracts for its vessels especially for its newbuilding containerships, especially this far ahead of delivery which is several years away in [the second and third quarters of] 2015,” they said.
