An alleged stabbing incident involving a ship’s cook has landed the third engineer of a Singaporean bulker in an Indian hospital.
The Indian Coastguard was rushed into action after being notified about the violent incident by the master of the 55,800-dwt Maritime Setoshio (built 2005) on Sunday.
The engineer was said to have been severely stabbed by the cook, both of whom are Filipinos, in the afternoon brawl as the ship headed for the Indian port of Navlakhi.
