Pirates who kidnapped six crew members from a Danish weapons vessel before abandoning it in the Indian Ocean are believed to have left its cargo untouched.
Ammunitions, explosives and small arms are understood to make up the cargo onboard the 1,780-dwt Leopard (built 1989) which is still being guarded by members of the Turkish Navy.
It remains a mystery why pirates boarded the Denmark-flagged general cargoship east of the Gulf of Aden on Wednesday only to leave it behind after abducting its crew and shifting them to another pirated mothership.
