A German tanker stepped in to help the French crew of a yacht who were stranded in the Atlantic.
The 40,600-dwt Seamarlin (built 2007) stuck with the stricken crew of the boat which had lost its mast and got into difficulty on Tuesday.
The master of the Germany-flagged products tanker received a distress signal from the yacht and put in a call to the Falmouth Coastguard at 08:15, a statement from the UK’s Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) read.
