Hawaiian shipowner Young Brothers is planning a fleet expansion worth more than $180m.
The company said the investment will be made in ships and equipment by the end of 2018.
Plans include four large 11,700-dwt capacity barges and a 5,600-dwt multi-deck barge to transport vehicles, the Honolulu Star Advertiser reported.
Four 6,000-horsepower tugs are scheduled to begin service next year.
