Wilson has completed its first acquisition in 2017 as it bought two small bulk carriers from Germany’s Lauterjung Group.
The mini-bulker specialist is paying EUR 3.5m ($3.9m) for the 2,460-dwt Arion (built 1999) and Hestia (built 2000).
Wilson will take delivery of the Tulcea-built ships during the next quarter.
It will finance the purchase with equity although it noted its fleet will not be increased as the company had commercial control of the vessels in the past.
