Zoullas is believed to have purchased a pair of products tankers from the Scerni group of Italy through a new shipmanagement company known as Zenith, brokers said this week.
An e-mail message to Zoullas was not returned before TradeWinds’ press time.
Zoullas’ career to date has been entirely within the dry bulk sector, both at the helm of Eagle Bulk and in his previous stint with a private family-run company.
