Consolidation in Germany is lurching forward, with Bremen-based Zeaborn acquiring half of Leer-based chartering outfit EMS ConBulk (ECB).
Zeaborn is taking 50% of the shares in the container and multipurpose (MPP) chartering company from Reederei Bockstiegel, while also hatching plans to acquire as many as 27 secondhand vessels and newbuildings.
ECB was set up in 2000 by Georg Krey and Werner Bockstiegel to handle the fleet of Emden-based Reederei Bockstiegel and Leer-based Krey Schiffahrt.
