Valsamis-controlled Polar linked to second tanker purchase

Greek owner Athanasios Valsamis is said to have bought a second tanker.

Sources say his company, Polar Tankers, is being linked to the purchase of the 96,000-dwt, double-sided tanker Quasar (built 1989).

The ship was reported sold last week to an undisclosed owner with a three-year charter back at an undisclosed rate.

Valsamis could not be reached for comment before TradeWinds went to press.
