A bid for a slice of the world hull insurance market is to be made by an ambitious new venture with strong shipowner connections.
The American Hellenic Hull Insurance Co, being established in Cyprus, starts with the portfolio of the Hellenic Hull Mutual but will be wholly owned by the American Club.
The new company is the brainchild of Angelos Kostakos of Athens-based bulker owner Oceanstar Management, who is a director of both the Hellenic Hull and American clubs.
