Long-term charters are in jeopardy for around 50 foreign-built offshore support vessels (OSVs) at work for Petrobras, as the Brazilian state-owned giant seeks deep cuts in day rates and aims to scale back the size of its chartered fleet.
One well-known Norwegian owner tells TradeWinds that “more than 20” of those 50 ships are likely to lose their charters within “just the next few weeks”.
