Another player has moved into the Argentinean liner sector but doubts are growing over other South American container-shipping players.
Nasdaq-listed Ultrapetrol has entered the market with the launch of Patagonia Shipping Lines, connecting ports in Patagonia with Buenos Aires, Ushuaia and Montevideo.
The flag-restricted service will deploy the 1,118-teu Asturiano (built 2003), purchased earlier this year from German owner Werner Bockstiegel for $12.5m.
