Nasdaq-listed Ultrapetrol is being linked to the purchase of its second feeder containership.
The Argentinean-backed company is said to have acquired the 1,050-teu Sinar Bontang (built 2002) from Japanese owners for slightly less than $14m.
The ship is expected to operate on Ultrapetrol’s flag-restricted service launched in July under the banner of Patagonia Shipping Lines. The service connects ports in Patagonia with Buenos Aires, Ushuaia and Montevideo.
