The London-based company is switching an order for three 82,000-dwt kamsarmaxes at Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding in China into three 2,700-teu containerships.
The bulkers were contracted by Norwegian owner Torvald Klaveness in late 2013 and early 2014 for an estimated $26m to $27m each.
Judging by similar recent switches, it is likely to cost at least the same to convert the order into gearless boxships for delivery in the first half of 2017.
