Trading houses are starting to make their presence felt in the LNG shipping arena on the back of increased volumes of available product and affordable tonnage on which to lift cargoes.
According to a recent briefing from Poten & Partners, trading houses accounted for 36% of the 275 LNG carrier spot and short-term fixtures logged in 2016.
Brokers list big names like Vitol, Trafigura, Gunvor, Koch and Glencore as among those making the bigger play on LNG.
