The company is understood to have bought the 306,500-dwt DS Vidonia from Germany’s Dr Peters for $57.5m. The price is said to include a premium of around $1m, attributed to its prompt delivery in the Arabian Gulf. The DSME-built vessel appears to be currently at anchor in Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates.
Sale-and-purchase (S&P) brokers say the ship generated a good degree of interest, with a number of big names taking a look, which helped to push up the price.
