Two AP Moller-Maersk stalwarts, Chris Jephson and Henning Morgen, set out last year to chronicle the role played by Maersk Line in becoming a leader of the container shipping industry — exactly 40 years on from the the Danish firm’s somewhat belated decision to switch its liner focus from pallets to boxes.
Jephson adds that 2013 would also have been the 100th birthday of Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller, the man who led the company into containers and who was at or close to the group’s helm from 1945 until his death aged 98.
