Shipping circles in Greece are humming with the news that Solym Carriers, an operating company backed by Nicholas Papalios, allegedly failed recently to make good on freight commitments to head owners under a subcharter party.
Rumours have been circulating for a couple of weeks about the operator, as well as affiliated shipping company Primal Shipmanagment, but Solym’s misdeed was put on the record through a letter sent to shipowners’ association the Baltic and International Maritime Council (Bimco) by Gerhard Kraft of Ship Risk Management, ADM Germany.
