Fast-expanding Sinokor Merchant Marine is putting its faith in long-range-two (LR2) products tankers by booking up to 10 units of 114,000 dwt at Daehan Shipbuilding, several of them in a bulkers-for-tankers swap.
Sources say Seoul-based Sinokor has converted four 180,000-dwt capesizes on order at the domestic yard into an equal number of LR2s, while at the same time signing a fresh contract for up to six similar vessels, involving two firm newbuildings and four options.
