A series of so-called hackathons are being held across Northern Europe in the hope of bringing new ideas to shipping that can progress digitalisation.
Hackathons are events in which computer and digital experts are invited to study a particular industry and contribute ideas from their field of expertise.
The most innovative ideas win awards and can be given public or corporate funding to be developed.
