Royal Caribbean International (RCI) has finally managed to rid itself of the elderly, unwanted cruiseship Atlantic Star (built 1984) as part of its deal to order a new Oasis-class cruiseship at STX France.
After several years of finding no takers for the steam-turbine-powered, 46,000-gt Atlantic Star, RCI has reportedly traded in the ship to STX France as part-payment for the 5,400-berth cruiseship the yard will deliver to the company in 2016.
