Seaspan Corp is on the verge of putting together a deal for more ships of 10,000 teu or larger, while Yang Ming Marine Corp and Chile’s CSAV are putting the finishing touches to long-awaited post-panamax orders.

Seaspan boss Gerry Wang said in a conference call that his company is set to do more “off market” deals for 10,000-teu-plus vessels.

The New York-listed owner already has three 10,000-teu ships on order at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding that have been fixed on 10-year charters to Hanjin Shipping from delivery next year.
