Hong Kong-based Goldwin Shipping has emerged as the dealmaker behind several projects in which it has participated alongside much bigger shipowners.
The next move is set to be a proposed series of 40,000-dwt chemical tankers under discussion at Huatai Heavy Industries.
Low-key Goldwin, also known as Jinwei, led by Jiangxi-province born Cheng Hui and daughter Catherine (Cheng Baoqi), is known as a tonnage supplier with a small but modern fleet, which over the years has included supramax and ultramax bulkers, small chemical tankers and, most recently, the initial ship in a chemical tanker series now being built at private Hantong Ship Heavy Industry for use by Sinochem Shipping.
