Khalid Hashim, managing director of Thailand’s Precious Shipping, tells TradeWinds that two 64,000-dwt bulkers rejected by the owner in May due to non-performance issues could still join the company’s fleet if builder Sainty Marine were to drastically reduce the price.
By this, he means a figure in line with what the market has been willing to pay for similar ships the yard has had to find new buyers for after the original owners failed to take delivery.
