The family behind Denmark’s Lego group continues to boost its shipping exposure by buying a vessel outright for the first time.
The Kirk family has bought the 50,000-dwt products tanker Stealth Argentina (built 2009), having previously only taken majority stakes in two ships.
The vessel was bought from the J Lauritzen group with which Kirk Kapital co-operates closely.
Lauritzen Tankers director Jan Kastup-Nielsen confirms the purchase but declines to disclose the price of the vessel, which has been renamed Gunhild Kirk.
