A former ferry once operated by Faroe Islands-based Smyril Line is about to begin a new career as a seagoing mission church and bookshop.
The 12,000-gt ropax ferry Norrona I (built 1973) has been sold to the international Christian mission organisation Operation Mobilization (OM) for EUR 3.6m ($4.4m).
Smyril Line, which replaced the vessel last year with a larger newbuilding, says it decided to sell the ship to OM after having no luck finding any commercial buyers.
