Greece’s Moundreas family has snapped up two Japanese-controlled capesize bulkers in a rare deal that seems to be setting a fresh low for secondhand prices in that segment, market sources say.
The Nippon Kokan KK-built, 172,600-dwt Onoe and Koyo Dockyard-built, 171,200-dwt Chitose (both built 2000), which have been in the fleet of Japan’s NYK Line, are understood to have changed hands for $9.5m
