Bank lenders have auctioned off two ageing vessels in the shrinking fleet of Greek owner Stavros Roussos, leaving his company with a single ship, which has been abandoned in Spain, according to authorities there.

The 24,300-dwt handysize bulker Ean (built 1995) and 10,000-dwt Sea Orchid (built 1997) went under the hammer last month at a court in Piraeus at the behest of Greek lender Alpha Bank, according to brokers and shipping sources involved in the transaction.
