The sanctions against Iran are being felt in large and small ways across the entire market for offshore-support vessels (OSVs) in the Middle East Gulf, while the matter can be an extremely touchy topic for discussion.

The sanctions’ effects seem to be spread rather unevenly across the region’s two-tiered market of old and new vessels (see previous pages).

The largest effect is on some of the smaller owners, especially the ones who have traditionally placed their OSVs in Iran’s waters.
