One of Germany’s biggest boxship brokers is moving into the bulker sector.
Harper Petersen, the company jointly owned by shipowners Bertram Rickmers and Erck Rickmers, will take its numbers up to around 140 container and dry cargo vessels by adding a fleet of bulkers to its portfolio.
Some 21 bulkers that have been on long-term charters or operating in the Torvald Klaveness pools are being transferred to the books of the Hamburg-based broker.
