Brokers say the Dragnis family-backed company has bought the 2,496-teu ER Bremerhaven (built 2002).
No price has been mentioned but online platform VesselsValue.com pegs the ship at $8.92m.
Shipowner John Dragnis declines to say if Goldenport has purchased the vessel or not, as he does not wish to discuss specific deals.
However, he says the owner is interested in adding secondhand boxships and is adopting what he calls an “old-fashioned shipping” strategy to build up its fleet.
